A new way to pray!
We’re planning to pray together this Wednesday night at 7.30pm. I know given the current restrictions you might be thinking to yourselves, how is this possible? Well, we have the answer and it is called ZOOM!
Zoom is a video conferencing option that we can use for free as long as we don’t go over 40 minutes and we can have up to 100 participants at any given time! So, there is room for all of us to join in!! It’s also very easy to use!
What do I need to connect?
A smart phone, tablet or laptop with camera/microphone/speakers
Internet connection
A Zoom invite (that’s below!)
You don’t need to install the ZOOM app, but I would recommend it if you can. The links to install for Apple and Android devices are below – just click on the appropriate one for you device. If you are using a laptop then you don’t need an app as your web browser will be sufficient, however, it will need to install some software on your browser.
Please allow yourself a few minutes to get connected if you haven’t installed the APP before. You can join any time so don’t be worrying if you are a few minutes late. It might be worth familiarising yourself with the features of the app ( you can choose to have video on or off, & voice on or off)
How will the prayer meeting work?
OK, so when we’re all connected how are we going to do this? Since there is the possibility of quite a number of us connecting I think the following guidelines will help us really enjoy our time of prayer together:
When everyone connects I’ll speak first
We’re going to have 5 prayer points (see below)
Once I see who is connected I will then ask several people to pray in order.
Please focus on the prayer points below.
Near the end I will finish with a closing prayer
I know this isn’t perfect, but if we embrace the idea I really think we could be be blessed by our time of prayer together. I am really looking forward to trying it out!
Prayer Points
1. Pray for the front line workers like our wonderful NHS staff.
2. Pray for the vulnerable in our society who have underlying health issues that Corona Virus is more severe to.
3. Pray for those are fearful and anxious about the future e.g. job losses, home isolation and so on.
4. Pray for God to have mercy and that He would push back this Corona Virus and save lives.
5. Lastly, pray for everyone in Carryduff Elim. We all need prayer for this time as all of us are touched by the 4 prayer points above.
